DFW Airport is undergoing a significant multi-year modernization project, including the addition of new gates and road infrastructure. These upgrades aim to prepare the world's fourth-busiest airport for a record-breaking summer, partially influenced by the concurrent World Cup event.
  • DFW Airport has unveiled nine new gates at Terminal C, featuring enhanced amenities like plush seating and large windows. These gates are designed to handle approximately 60 flights daily and represent a modern upgrade compared to older sections of the terminal.
  • The airport is also opening a new east-west road connecting to State Highway 360 and has relocated terminal exits to the right side of International Parkway for easier access.
  • Further enhancements include a new aircraft rescue and firefighting station equipped with fitness facilities and dorm rooms. Plans are in place to revamp the original Terminal C gates, eventually totaling 32 new and rebuilt gates.
  • Future commercial developments include the addition of local vendors like Cookie Society and Mi Cocina. Despite progress and some projects finishing ahead of schedule, certain areas remain under construction, causing temporary congestion.
